The mother of an Iranian Christian jailed for his faith has pleaded for his son to be released from Rajai-Shahr (Gohardasht) priCiting her visual disability, Firouzi’s mother also said she is unable to visit her son in Rajai-Shahr even if she misses him already. Firouzi was thrown in the Rajai-Shahr prison and is serving a five-year sentence for his involvement in Christian ministries. The NCRI says authorities slapped him with bogus charges on Mar. 8 and was condemned to another five years in jail.
Moreover, Firouzi is reportedly being deprived of access to medical treatment despite his acute illnesses. The imprisoned Christian has been suffering from acute pain on his left chest for more than a year now and his condition has worsened in the last three months.
Firouzi is just one of the many others imprisoned in Iran because of their faith and religious activities. The Iran Human Rights Documentation Center says there were at least 380 individuals including 250 Sunni Muslims and 26 Christians jailed for their Christian faith by the end of 2015. Reports also suggest that evangelical Christians and converts from Muslim backgrounds are being persecuted and harassed in jail.an ministries.
