David Petraeus, former head of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency warns that the money released following nuclear deal with Iran regime falls into the hands of Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) and sectarian militants affiliated to the regime.

Parts of his interview with Sky-News:

Regarding consequences of nuclear agreement with Iran regime, Gen. David Petraeus says: “The money released following nuclear agreement would go to the Iranian regime Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) and its affiliated militants. There is no doubt that the regime in Iran through different means including support for the sectarian militants has extensive interference in Iraq. The regime has in various situations provided training, equipment and financial support for the sectarian militants by the (IRGC’s) Quds Force and its commander Qassem Soleimani.”

Gen. Petraeus considers Iranian regime as the main and long-term threat to Iraq and adds: “The Iranian regime also controls some Iraqi political figures and this is a big challenge. I have said many times and I repeat that the real challenge in Iraq is not Daesh (ISIS/ISIL). Daesh will be destroyed as they are being destroyed now. But the real challenge that is also the long-term challenge is summarized in the sectarian militants.”

He highlights the crimes committed by the regime of Bashar al-Assad and says: “The Syrian opposition holds Assad responsible for the killing of 400 to 500 thousand Syrian citizens and displacement of more than half of the Syrian people and massive destruction in areas like Aleppo. That is why it is very unlikely that Assad could dominate Syria again.”
