Opposition Leader – Roadmap to Regime Change in Iran

During the past 14 years, the annual “Free Iran” gathering in Paris has been an event in which the most important issues related to Iran are discussed and the main political stances of The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), and its objectives, are announced by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi.

“Give it all to advance the uprising” Maryam Rajavi compels the NCRI supporters gathered at the June 30 rally in Paris as the primary agenda for all those who concern themselves about freedom in Iran.

For the past 37 years, the NCRI has been the most effective exiled opposition movement standing against the oppression and terrorism of the mullahs’ regime.

As a coalition of the Iranian organizations and prominent figures, the NCRI seeks to establish a democratic republic, based on separation of religion and state.

The main policy of NCRI thought has always been “regime change” in Iran which is in clear contrast with the so-called appeasement policy of the west aimed at changing regime’s behavior.

Due to the dramatic internal and international changes with regards to Iran, the recent opposition convention attracted more attentions than ever before and Mrs. Rajavi’s remarks were immensely aired and discussed in political circles.

Below you can see some highlights from Maryam Rajavi’s Speech at the Free Iran Gathering in Paris on June 30, 2018.

Signs of the phase of Iran regime’s overthrow:

The most important issue that must be emphasized is nationwide uprising in Iran. The uprising will continue without respite, constantly expanding and deepening. The overthrow of this regime is inevitable. Victory is certain and Iran will be free. The leverages for the overthrow to topple the regime are resistance units.

How and where these realities can be seen?

First, owing to the presence of the Resistance movement, the so-called solution from within the religious fascism has become null and void.

Second, for the past six months the Iranian people have waged an uprising and a protest movement despite maximum suppression, which indicate that the phase of the regime’s overthrow has arrived.

Third, an explosive and irreversible situation as the results of social discontent and economic crises, especially high prices, unemployment, poverty, and inequality.

Fourth, the collapse of appeasement policy which means that the mullahs have lost the most important backer of this policy, namely the United States.

Fifth, the linkage between the fury of the deprived and oppressed and the organized Resistance movement, which forms the resistance units as the bases of the liberation army to response the requirements of the regime change.

Sixth, the campaign to create phony and overnight alternatives has become prevalent these days which should be counted as another sign of the phase of the regime’s overthrow.

Regime Change in Iran

Attributes of the Iranian Resistance, represented by the NCRI and its main component PMOI, as the viable alternative to the despotic clerical regime of Iran, which make it reliable for advancement of the issue of Regime Change in Iran and restoring the people’s sovereignty:

– This organization and its leader have successfully passed through the test of time and sacrifice;

– The PMOI as the main organization in the NCRI coalition, enjoys a history of fighting against two dictatorial regimes, with the clear demarcation with dictatorship and dependency, with a nationwide resistance and lots of fallen for freedom during the struggle and challenging against the principle of the Velayat-e faqih and exposing the fake moderates;

– The Iranian Resistance has a history of challenging Khomeini over the unpatriotic Iran-Iraq war, ending the inferno of that war, and discrediting the motto of “liberating Qods via Karbala”, by launching over 100 military operations by the National Liberation Army of Iran;

– The NCRI has had the key role in exposing the regime’s human rights abuses and crimes in 64 UN resolutions, with running the campaign by the supporters of the Resistance worldwide and insisting on the respect for the rights of Iranian nation for four decades;

– The NCRI has unveiled the regime’s nuclear weapons, missile, chemical and microbiological programs and facilities;

– The NCRI has presented specific platform and programs on the Provisional Government for the transition of sovereignty to the Iranian people;

So the overthrow of this regime inevitably requires sacrifice and an organization, enable to form resistance units and a liberation army.

Otherwise, the only fantasy solution for Iran is regime change via an Iraq-like occupation, meaning through a foreign intervention. Such a scenario already has a foregone conclusion.

The NCRI’s initiative “National Solidarity Front to overthrow the religious dictatorship”

In 2005, the Iranian Resistance adopted the plan on the National Solidarity Front for the Overthrow of the Ruling Religious Dictatorship and declared that it was prepared to cooperate will all forces who want a republic form of government, that are committed to the complete rejection of the velayat-e faqih regime and that struggles for a democratic, independent Iran, based on separation of religion and state.

The visage of the democratic alternative which rejects the mullahs’ rule or any form of dictatorship

The NCRI calls for the establishment of a society, based on freedom, democracy, and equality, which has clear demarcations with despotism and dependence as well as gender, ethnic and class discrimination, and based on separation of religion and state, and defending autonomy of nationalities, abolition of death penalty, freedom of expression, parties, media, assembly, unions, associations, councils and syndicates.

The priority of the West’s policy regarding Iran

The Iranian regime has benefited the most by denying the wherewithal enjoyed by Iranian Resistance, the alternative to the fundamentalist regime in Iran, and by using western appeasers to suppress this movement. Therefore, as far as Iran is a matter of concern, without recognizing the Resistance and the right to resist, the damages the policy of appeasement has inflicted on the Iranian people cannot be rectified.
