Report by PMOI/MEK July 11, 2018 :

An Argentine federal judge is asking Russia to arrest and extradite Ali Akbar Velyati, a senior advisor to Iranian regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, according to the Revolutionary Guards-affiliated Fars news agency.

Arriving Wednesday, Velayati is in Moscow to discuss bilateral relations, Middle East developments and to meet with Russian officials, including President Vladimir Putin.

Judge Rodolfo Canicoba Corral requested the arrest of Velayati following news reports covering the visit.

The federal judge is accusing Velayati of being affiliated to the 1994 AMIA Jewish center bombing in Buenos Aires that left 85 people killed and over 300 others injured.

The Argentinian government had also sought Velayati’s arrest and extradition back in 2016 during his visits to Malaysia and Singapore.

On July 18th, 1994, a large building in Buenos Aires became the target of a major truck bombing. The Iranian regime to this day stands accused to have carried out this horrendous terror attack in collaboration with the Lebanese Hezbollah.

Since 2006 there has been an international arrest warrant for Velayati and seven other Iranian regime officials.

Velayati was Tehran’s foreign minister at the time and is now among a number of envoys the regime sends abroad following the United States’ pull-out of the Iran nuclear deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
